2010 CBF & PILI Agency Series: "Making the Most of Available Volunteers"

Always, but especially in the current economy, volunteers that want to help may not easily fit into existing pro bono programs. Legal aid attorneys and pro bono managers are invited to attend an interactive session on how to effectively and efficiently utilize various types of volunteers to help meet client need, including inexperienced and unemployed volunteers. After hearing about some new and innovative programs and delivery models that are making most of available volunteers, the group will work together to identify successful strategies for involving these volunteers in your programs. This session is on Thursday, January 21, 2010, from 3 to 5 pm at the CBA.

2008 Agency Series: "Engaging Pro Bono Volunteers"

The first program in the 2008 PBI Agency Series entitled, "Capturing Interest," was held on Monday, March 10, 2008.  This program provided insights and strategies on successfully recruiting pro bono volunteers. Click here to view the agenda for this program.

2007 Agency Series: "Expanding Your Pro Bono Reach"

The first program in the series was held on Monday, October 1st and was entitled, "Effectively Marketing Your Agency's Pro Bono Program and Opportunities."  The program focused on topics including, the complete and effective use of www.IllinoisProBono.org, effectively using newsletters and e-mails, and promoting your program, opportunities and financial contributions through your agency's website.  View the agenda.  This program was also webcast and archived for viewing on IllinoisProBono.org.

The second and final program in the 2007 PBI Agency Series was held on Monday, December 10th and focused on micro level strategies for delivering personal pitches of your program and delivering effective and useful trainings to firms and corporations.  This program was entitled, "Developing and Delivering Effective Presentations and Trainings for Law Firm and Corporate Pro Bono Attorneys."  Click here to view the agenda.  The program was also webcast and is available for viewing on IllinoisProBono.org.
