A message from PILI's Executive Director:

June 2, 2010

It is with a mix of sadness and excitement that I announce that as of July 2, 2010, I will be leaving my post as Executive Director of the Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) to join the University of Chicago Law School as their Director of Public Interest Law & Policy. I feel very fortunate to have seen--and been a part of PILI's growth over these past six years in all areas, from programs to financial resources.  And while it is difficult to move on from PILI, I am excited to be joining a prestigious institution like the University of Chicago Law School, and assisting them in their efforts to develop and implement programs, courses, counseling, and placement activities for students and alumni who are interested in pursuing public interest/public sector activities and careers.

PILI will be assembling a committee to conduct a search for a new Executive Director. The agency has a dedicated staff and board of directors, all of whom are eager to assist and direct PILI during this time of transition. Some of you are well acquainted with PILI’s able board leaders, and many of you undoubtedly know Michael Bergmann, PILI’s Director of Programs. You may call on Michael directly at 312-832-5129 or by e-mail during the coming months as he and PILI’s board leadership work to prepare PILI for continued growth and progress during and beyond this transition. Please feel free to contact me at 312-832-5128 or e-mail until July 2nd.

Sincerely,

Susan J. Curry
